Trimble Road Files Overwritten!!!
The Trimble Survey Controller software version 11.31 overwrites Trimble
road files in certain situations.
This note describes how this works.
Description:
When a job that contains a road is uploaded to the Trimble Survey
Controller software, the road is removed from the job and a new file
that defines the road is created with the name of the road and the
extension RXL.
The RXL file is saved to the Trimble data folder. If there is a road of
the same name in this folder, it is overwritten by the uploaded road
file. This process also happens when a job that was created in an
earlier version is upgraded to Trimble Survey Controller software
version 11.31.
When a DC file that contains a road is copied to the Trimble Survey
Controller software and then converted to a job, the RXL file for the
road has "(1)" added to the file name, if an RXL file of the same name
exists. If the DC file is converted a second time, the resulting RXL
file has "(12)" added to the file name, and so on, each time that file
is converted.
