Resolving Connection Difficulties When Using ActiveSync
On some Trimble handhelds running
Microsoft Mobile 5 as the default connection method (RNDIS USB) may
conflict with some network and VPN software settings. This creates
problems when connecting the controller to ActiveSync.
Solution
1. Make sure that you have ActiveSync v. 4.2 installed.
2. With a Geo 2005 Series be sure to have OS v. 5.1.13 or later
installed.
3. On the handheld, select Start>Settings>Connection.
4. Tap the USB to PC icon.
5. Clear the Enable advanced network functionality check box and
then tap OK.
6. If the New Modem Detected dialog appears, tap Dismiss.
To switch the connection back to RNDIS USB, repeat the
previous, but select the check box.
